About Us
Who we are

Elegant Ladies Club Asaba (ELCA) is a registered association of professional women established in 1985 (Certificate of Incorporation No. 4153) to provide a rallying point for Asaba women who wish to contribute to the social and economic development of Asaba. Membership is open to Asaba women by birth or marriage with a professional calling.

Operating Model & Governance
  • National platform with chapters in Lagos & Abuja.

  • One Constitution with National Executive Council and Chapter Executive Councils.

  • Monthly meetings rotate among members’ residences; one annual general meeting held in Asaba.

  • Offshore members participate from Europe, Australia, Canada and the USA.

Funding sources: Member contributions, fundraising events and donations.

Patrons: Chief John Dike Edozien (Odafe Ede Asaba) and Mrs. Nwanyiuzo Comfort Hayes.

Our Programs
We organise programs in four pillars: Education & Scholarships, Skills Acquisition & Girl Centre, Philanthropy & Wellness, and Socio-cultural Engagement. Each pillar is built to deliver measurable impact to women and girls of Asaba.

ELCA Foundation

  • Secondary & Tertiary Scholarship Schemes — financial support for bright, needy students.
  • Community Leaders & Good Governance Engagements — advocacy and stakeholder dialogues.

  • Talk Series & Youth Counselling — mentorship sessions and counselling for young people.

     

Skills Acquisition & Girl Centre

  • Multi-skill training (beauty therapy, basic IT, small-scale manufacturing).

  • Transit hostel and rescue support for vulnerable girls.

  • Resource library and computer/business appreciation centre.

  • Multipurpose hall for training and events.

     

ELCA Philanthropy & Wellness

  • Health outreach: blood pressure and blood sugar checks in markets, deworming for pupils, wellness activities.

  • Donations to hospitals, old people’s homes, schools and individuals in need.

     

Socio-Cultural & Collaboration

  • Active participation in Asaba Women Socio-cultural Association and Conference of Asaba Indigenous Clubs (COAIC).

  • Annual members’ social events and community debates on topical issues.
