His Majesty made this remarks when he received members of the Elegant Club of Asaba in his palace on December 15, 2025.
Nna Agu emphasized the importance of women’s independence, noting that they should always introduce themselves confidently, rather than hiding behind their husbands’ or fathers’ names. He commended Asaba women for their resilience and contributions to the community, particularly Asaba Massacre during the civil war in Nigeria.
HRM Asagba Azinge praised the Elegant Ladies Club for their ongoing project, which includes skill acquisition center for rehabilitating girls and donation of 30 pillows to the Asaba Drug Rehabilitation Centre. He urged them to continue advocating against illicit drug use and promoting peace, harmony, and unity.
Speaking earlier, Chief Mrs Patricia Onianwa, Ezioyi Ahaba on behalf of the Elegant Ladies Club of Asaba commiserated with the Monarch on the demise of late Odogwu Ahaba, Obi Chief Peter Nwanze Oduah and late Ogwulujame Ahaba, Chief Anthony Molokwu. She notified Nna Agu that they celebrated their 40th anniversary since the club was birthed and highlighted their achievements which includes:
1. Ongoing Project which consists of a skill acquisition centre for rehabilitating street girls.
2. Visit to Orphanage Homes.
3. Donation of 30 pillows to the Asaba Drug Rehabilitation Centre
Ezioyi Ahaba also informed His Majesty that the club has changed their name and greetings to “Onyemesike….Ngozi Eluè Aka” and promised to collaborate with the Asaba Drugs Prohibition Committee whenever they are called upon.
